In addition to my full-time freelance work at Car Bibles, I’ve been burning the midnight oil writing freelance reviews for HotCars.com. Hot Cars has been great to work with as the EIC Anthony is super friendly and they pay very quickly. Like, within a week-or-so of the article going live.
These reviews, in addition to Car Bibles, in addition to burning even later midnight oil contributing videos to the Winding Road Magazine YouTube channel, have ensured that I haven’t yet freaked out about being full-freelance in 2021. Covered California has helped too -man I love this state.
I’ve done a few reviews for Hot Cars so far, with another two in the works. To bring this blog up to speed, check ’em out:
- 2021 McLaren 620R (I discussed doing very non-race car things with it in a previous blog)
- 2021 Toyota GR Supra 3.0
- 2021 Hyundai Veloster N DCT
- 2020 Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD (my first review I wrote for them)
The most fun of the lot was the 620R -my god what a perception-warper. The things I’d do to run a weekend’s worth of track sessions at Buttonwillow with that thing. The Lambo was also wild, and weirdly had one of the most comfortable performance-car rides I’ve ever tested when toggled to Normal mode.
