A deep passion for the automotive industry.
I’m Peter (or Pete, whichever you prefer) Nelson and am a Los Angeles-based automotive journalist and writer. During my career I’ve written reviews, features, podcasts, scripts, news hits, and motorsports reports, as well as blogged about project car wrenching, DIY maintenance, consumer guidance, and gear review. Additionally, I’m adept at SEO strategy and podcast production.
Previously, I was on staff at The Drive, a full-time contributor to Car Bibles (RIP), and an editor at Winding Road Magazine. As a freelancer, I’ve contributed to CarGurus, The Verge, Ars Technica, Inside EVs, Robb Report, Motor1, Donut Media, AutomotiveHistory.org, US News and World Reports, Grassroots Motorsports, J.D. Power, SF Gate, The Autopian, Forbes, and more.
I’m fascinated by every corner of the automotive industry—especially if it’s motorsports-related—and have an extensive background in HPDE/track day driving. In my free time, I love cycling around Los Angeles and shooting photos.
